Decorative Concrete Patios

There are few things that can dress up your backyard more than a beautiful decorative concrete patio. This is something everybody wants but they don’t know who to ask or where to turn. Well if you live in the Twin Cities Metro area you are in luck because you live near one of the most talented decorative concrete artists in the United States!

Giestone can turn that space behind your house from a garden of weeds into a concrete masterpiece! With this company, you are going to get a stunning design followed by a finished product that you won’t forget. Each project is designed, quoted and carefully managed by an owner of the company. This is not a company that will subcontract a project or mass produce patios. The owners are hands-on and you better believe they care about the finished product.

Decorative Concrete Patios

If you are looking for a new patio I would like to tell about the wonderful experience we had with Giestone. Back in 2013 my wife and I wanted to put in a patio but we were not totally sure what to do. We didn’t know much except we wanted it to be nice and we wanted it to be unique. Thanks to the vision and expertise of Giestone, they were able to draw up a plan and bring to life what we had in mind.

Giestone also added some really neat features that my wife and I definitely would not have thought of on our own. One of these features included adding a fire-pit at the edge of our patio. This wasn’t your ordinary fire-pit either. They were able to find an amazing deal on some 100-year-old brick from an old brewery in Minneapolis.

They used this brick as the exterior on our fire-pit. I love that our fire pit has such a rich history and it’s the focal point of our patio! It’s a story I usually tell when we have company over.

They also cast the tops of the fire-pit in their shop, helped us decide which stamp pattern to use and had the idea to individually stain each block in the stamp pattern a different color. Some of you are like okay don’t tell me show me. Well, see for yourself if this company does quality work.

More than just patios

Giestone is known for many other projects too, not just patios. They also specialize in sidewalks, steps, driveways, concrete sinks and counter-tops, borders and much more. The possibilities are endless! GO HERE for more pictures of their completed projects. I should take this opportunity to mention that if you desire to build a deck with your patio Giestone also partners with MN Decks. We used both of these amazing companies for our patio and deck and couldn’t be happier with the results.

Concrete Overlay

Did you know that you can give your existing sidewalk a makeover by adding a concrete overlay? This is a more affordable option than a complete replacement. From a simple resurfacing to a beautiful decorative finish, a concrete overlay just might be right for you. My recommendation would be to go with a stamped decorative concrete overlay.

A stamped overlay offers the same stunning appearance of a conventional stamped surface but is applied over the existing concrete. Overlays can also be applied to most vertical concrete such as a wall. Breathe new life into driveways, sidewalks, floors pool decks, etc with a beautiful new overlay!

Over the past 20 years, concrete is really catching on as a luxurious way to even improve the inside of your home. It’s natural elegance and durability make it the perfect material for upscale counter-tops, sinks, floors, and fireplaces.

For example, concrete floors are becoming extremely popular. Not only will this provide a dazzling and modern look to your home, but concrete floors can be remarkably affordable. You will never regret a floor like this. It requires very little care and its durability can take a lifetime of wear and tear.

Concrete is king for building our roads

When it comes to road construction concrete is the way to go. Concrete makes up nearly 30 percent of America’s interstate highways. Even though the up-front cost is slightly higher than asphalt, concrete roads have a longer life span and require less maintenance. In the long run, they are the most budget-friendly and are better for the environment.

Because it’s essentially fire-proof, concrete makes a wonderful option for building materials.

Yes, it’s true, the only building material that can withstand both water and fire is reinforced concrete! Concrete cannot burn or be set on fire. In addition, if it comes in contact with flames it will not release toxic fumes.

Concrete is also naturally water-resistant which makes it the ideal building material for underground structures like lower levels, basements, and parking structures.
