What might seem obvious to us can be confusing to others. Believe it or not, Corona Beer Virus is a heavily searched topic on the internet these days. Even more, some people actually think the coronavirus is related to Corona Beer.

Is the Corona Beer Virus real?

Just so we’re all clear, drinking Corona beer will not give you the coronavirus. Although if you drink too many of them you may become ill in a completely different manner. So enjoy in moderation and do not fret, a couple of beers may actually be beneficial to your health!

There are numerous studies that have shown drinking beer in moderation can actually protect the body from cold and flu viruses. How can this be, this is the greatest news ever right? Now before you go and try to disinfect your gut with a ton of beer, you should know that drinking responsibly is the only way to do this.

Yes, it’s true! Beer can be your friend in all of this because of its amazing antibacterial effects. Studies have shown that beer is powerful in creating an environment that infectious gut bacteria do not like. Might I add that Red Wine is very effective in this as well.

The Pilgrims were on to something

Did you know when the Pilgrims made their journey across the Atlantic in 1620 they carried with them a plethora of beer and wine? The reason being beer and wine was much safer to drink than water during those times. Think about it. When the Pilgrims left England all of the drinking water would have been taken with them on the ship. There were no Walmarts, Targets or Costco’s along the way to stop and grab a case of purified bottled water.

The water in fact got nasty in a hurry, full of germs and bacteria. Imagine trying to store your drinking water and keep it clean for the sixty-six days it took to sail across the ocean. For this reason, they turned to beer. Since the water could not be trusted beer was the answer!

Harmful pathogens cannot survive in beer very long. Of course, the Pilgrims did not understand the science behind this. What they did know was the water will make you sick and the beer will not. In fact, it is said that the Pilgrims did not land at Plymouth Rock because they planned it that way. They merely ran out of beer.

Corona Virus and Lyme Disease – A perfect match

It seems like almost a given that if you order a Corona it will be served with a lime wedge. Many people think this Mexican beer is best served this way and I couldn’t agree more.

Personally I like to squeeze in as much of the lime juice as I can before I stuff it down the neck of the bottle with my index finger. Yes, the wedge gets a little destroyed and there are bits and pieces of lime floating around the bottle, but it only adds to the enjoyment!
